The legal entity is the contract

A city, a brand, and a registration number are three different facts. Residence rules fail closed.

Traders shop the brand. The contract is with a legal entity, if one is named at all. A London office in a footer can be a marketing address, a subsidiary, or a fiction. This desk stores the location claim separately from the entity, and it does not promote a city into an incorporation.

What ‘reviewed’ means for an entity

A company-stated entity is a name the firm printed. Independently corroborated means a registry extract, or an equivalent primary record, was checked against that name. ‘Not corroborated’ is an honest blank. It is not a hint that the firm is illegitimate, and it is not a hint that it is fine. A watched firm can still have an uncorroborated registration number if the rules page never printed one.

Residence rules fail closed

  • Rule on the record
    Deny-list
    You are named as prohibited
    Excluded
    You are not named
Not a confirmation that you are eligible
  • Rule on the record
    Allow-list
    You are named as prohibited
    Not on the list: excluded
    You are not named
On the list: the text allows it, and the firm can still change checkout
  • Rule on the record
    Not found
    You are named as prohibited
    Unknown, not a pass
    You are not named
    Unknown, not a pass
How the matcher treats the country you enter. It does not guess the friendly reading.

Northline’s demonstration schedules name the United States as prohibited. A trader elsewhere is not thereby ‘approved’. Atlas names an allow-list — United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Singapore — and the record says countries outside that list are not eligible on the reviewed text. Harborpath’s futures records often have no residence clause at all. That absence stays unknown. It is the correct outcome, including when it is inconvenient.

Checkout can still refuse you

A reviewed clause is a snapshot. Firms change lists. Payment processors change lists. The matcher uses the clause we stored, with the date we stored it. It does not call the firm. If your country is allowed on the page and refused at payment, the page was stale or the firm applied a rule we did not have. Both are reasons to send a correction with the URL, not reasons to invent a softer rule.
